Circle, triangle, and square.

Circle, Triangle, and Square after Sengai Gibon (1750–1837) is a triptych made from coloured plaster. In each work, the small shape positioned in the lower right is the form I focus upon; the larger image above it is my synaesthetic response to that shape, translated into colour, pattern and movement. The three works form part of a much larger and ongoing exploration of simple geometric forms and the shapes of familiar objects, using them as starting points for investigating how a visual form can be experienced beyond its physical appearance. Much of this wider body of work has since been destroyed, while the exploration itself continues. This triptych, however, is one of the works I consider resolved and finished.
